The other name of this route is Whiskey route.
Marangu Route: – The Marangu route, also known as the “Coca-Cola” route, is the oldest, most well-established route on Kilimanjaro. This is the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory-style accommodations in lieu of camping. Many favor Marangu because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain.
Rongai Route: –In this route the ascend starts from border between Tanzania and Kenya. This route retains a sense of unspoiled wilderness and offers a different perspective on Kilimanjaro by approaching it from the north. This route uses the path from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point, and descends via the Marangu.
Umbwe Route: – The most challenging route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Umbwe is considered to be very difficult, taxing route – one that should only be attempted by strong hikers who are confident in their ability to acclimatize quickly to altitude.
